a fine mesh you've gotten us into

The last time I was in Toronto, I bought some overpriced (and over-ripe) peppers because I wanted the "bonus" mesh bag they came in. I've finally gotten around to making my own as a way to reduce the plastic bags we use. They can be taken to the store when buying veggies as well as used to store them in the fridge. Jury's still out on how well veggies keep in them; they should cut down on the slime factor, but I'm not sure if things might dry out instead...

I've got quite a few, so if anyone would like to try them out, send me a note -- a blog giveway!

And here's an update on the "beige chair"

I want that chair!!! Can I have it?? It is beautiful and you and Baker Son did a fantastic job! I love that you left the arms and sides as bare wood. Sustainability Son loves the fabric too.

I have 3 of those mesh bags and they work beautifully. Three isn't enough though...I'm just sayin' :)

    1. Whoa! The chair is not done! This is just to show that I haven't abandoned it yet... the wings and arms will have to be covered in fabric as the wood is far too damaged to leave bare. It's a nice idea, especially since I don't really know how to complete the sides, but it isn't going to work.

I will send you mesh bags soon!

Doh! The photo doesn't show that the wood is in poor condition. I was, however, wondering what that fabric hanging down under the arm was. Nevertheless you've made wonderful progress and it will be beautiful when done.

  3. I'd like some mesh bags too please. I bought a set at the grocery store just after I saw yours and was disappointed to find them without drawstrings. Your chair is coming along nicely...
