every day

Eleanor Roosevelt is credited with advising "Do one thing every day that scares you." Whether or not she actually said it is up for debate -- she said a lot of quotable things though. I don't think, however, that she was talking about today's anxiety-plagued society or the current political climate where just waking up and hearing the morning news is a frightening venture each and every darn day.

I'm going to take her thought and give a tweak, DoOver style -- my goal is do something that somehow challenges myself every day. Hey, this could be as simple as pushing that yoga pose to the next level, getting in 12,000 steps instead of the usual 10,000, finally getting around to that project (cleaning or creative) that I've been putting off, or making a point of learning something new.

I'm currently learning to knit (properly, not silly things) and made my first thrown pot with Ceramicist Daughter (hoping there will be more) and I'm working my way through The January Cure (from Apartment Therapy) -- a pretty good start I think.

As Son-the-Younger pointed out, the Lunar New Year we just passed (last Saturday in case you missed all the hullabaloo) was a great second chance at making and keeping resolutions -- and we're all about second chances here on the blog!

On a side note, I've really debated about continuing the blog -- at all or in its present form -- without the dog. There may be changes afoot, Or maybe not. We'll see.

Changes could be fine, it gives you even more room for creativity. The blog needs to continue, however. That's my vote.

Agreed. Your first pot is lovely- simple yet elegant. And your knitting tension looks perfect! That is always a tricky thing to master when first learning.
