This is not my idea. This one comes from my aunt. She's always ready with advice for any situation, especially if it saves money; she should have a newspaper column. Here's what to do with a stale baguette.
1) stale baguette leftover from previous night (but not yet rock hard) |
2) run the bread under water, quickly, so it's damp |
3) place in a paper bag and crumple the end closed. Place the bag in a warm oven (about 250 - 300 degrees C) for about 20 minutes.

Yum! Bread is good as new! (for about 15 minutes so eat up!). |
You've solved a problem for me! I don't know how many times I've had to compost a lovely baguette in anguish at the waste. Thank you for sharing!
