Deconstruction before Reconstruction

While we wait for Building Permit approval, we are beginning preparations for construction to come.  We're not really jumping the gun here, as these are things that needed to be done anyway... the question of access to the yard (for construction purposes) has just expedited events a bit.
Here's the list:
  1. tear down the playhouse (CHECK)
  2. remove tree and bush (CHECK, CHECK)
  3. move shed to where playhouse was....
  4. move greenhouse to where tree and bush were...
The playhouse was here when we moved in 14 years ago.  It was a huge selling feature for the kids.  That, and the abundance of snails.  It was old, though, and had become a haven for squatters of the 8-legged kind.  In spite of its age, it did not come down easily....
Going...

going....
going...

gone!  Well almost.

The tree and bush also went yesterday.  It was quite a pretty tree, actually, with lovely white flowers in June, but the neighbour was glad to see it go.  The bush was the dog's favourite back-scratching bush.  We're not sure how she'll react to find it gone when she returns from vacation today.

Not bad, for an afternoon's work, and perhaps a taste of what summer weekends will be like this year.
