all in a day's work

"So, what happened at the house today?"

• the granite for the island arrived(!)
• the countertops were laid in place in the kitchen, though not yet "installed", so the backsplash could be measured
• the electricians returned.  They put in all the outlets, switches, and potlights.
• the shower doors went in to both bathrooms
• the glass enclosure below the railing in the great room was installed
• the painters completed most of the bottom floor and nailed on painted weatherstripping around the garage door
• the cabinetry installation continued, with concentrated efforts in the bathrooms and laundry room
• the toilets, sinks and faucets arrived
• I sponged stone-enhancer on half of the fireplace surround... so it looks like I'm the only one who didn't get the job done this day!
