making a comeback

Since reaching all-time low numbers in the late 1970's, Western and Mountain Bluebirds have slowly been increasing their numbers in the B.C. interior. Volunteer organizations like the Southern Interior Bluebird Trail Society provide nest boxes and collect data regularly. We bought and installed 6 of them around the cabin and were thrilled on our last visit to discover some new feathered friends had moved in!

How about an update from your latest visit to the cabin? How are the Bluebirds doing now?

    1. Sadly, a tree fell over (knocked down by another) and took a nest box with it. But one nestfull fledged and there were more eggs (sparrows I think) in another.
