dog tired

If you go back to the very first post on this blog, you'll recall that the dog's resilience has always been the inspiration for it. And she's done it again -- bounced back from difficult times with a new lease on life. Advancing arthritis in her elbows (common in dogs, who carry 60% of their weight on their forelegs) left her lethargic, bored, and somewhat difficult to entertain. Some days she didn't want to go farther than the end of the driveway; at best we'd make it to the end of the street and back.

Enter  "Cartrophen" -- a wonder drug the vet suggested we try. She's had three injections this month -- the fourth happens today, then we move to a once-a-month maintenance schedule.

Yesterday we went for a walk. Each time she sensed we were heading back to the vehicle, she pulled in the opposite direction -- reluctantly we finished more than an hour later! Dog-tired indeed!
