While local restaurants are encouraging everyone to
"dine out" or
"dine around" , I'm a fan of the "dine in" experience! It's been a full year since I began this project -- see
"table talk" for the original story. Why so long? I just didn't know what to do with it, plus the apartment it was intended for (Two Sons' and a Fiancee's) didn't need a dining table at that time. But, one year (and a fair bit of deliberation and research) later... it's done!
The top is simply oiled with food-grade Hemp oil, and the base is painted with Canadian-made zero-VOC mineral paint, though I'm not sure the dog appreciates those details.
My most faithful commenter is having difficulty posting comments... Is anyone else (besides me) able to?
ReplyDeleteYou did an amazing job of the old cabin table! Happy it has found a good home. Louise
DeleteThank you Louise! This table has many more meals, stories and celebrations in it! So glad you offered it to us!
DeleteI'm back!!! Oh how I've missed being able to comment on my favourite blog on the whole planet! Thank you to Artist's Daughter's Genius Boyfriend for figuring out how to get me back online! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love that table. It was well worth the wait. And now it will be able to collect all sorts of new and fascinating stories again, as people gather around to share a meal or play a game.
And I have to say that your photos are beautiful DoOver. As always. <3
welcome back! missed you!
DeleteSo good to be back - not that I really left though. Just my gosh darned computer system that prevented me from letting you know regularly how wonderful you are, and how superb this blog is. Really really. I'm all caught up now - feels great! Bring on the next post :)
DeleteThank goodness for the twenty-something crowd who help us navigate through the murky depths of the beast we call the internet!
