Tucson part 2 -- the botanical garden

Our visit to the Botanical Gardens in Tucson reinforced my impression of this city and its environs as ruggedly beautiful and strikingly colourful. Butterfly pavilions are always magical, but this was one of the best and the orchids seemed almost animated. Can't you just feel the warmth of the sun in these photos?

    1. I thought you'd like the black butterfly!
      Most of them were quite ragged looking -- missing parts and fading away. That's what happens to them, even in such a protected space -- they were still dazzlingly beautiful! Tougher than they look!
