baby it's cold outside

Winter scenes from a snowy farm:

Lou, our Rooster, spent a few nights in our mudroom (in a dog crate) recovering from frostbite. We've had nights down to minus 14C and I suspect he picked an unfortunate place to roost on a cold one.

We cut our Christmas tree right from our property -- a first for us! And I have my eye on a few more out there for future Christmases! It isn't perfect, it wasn't groomed, and I had to curate our ornament collection because it didn't have many branches to hang them on, but I love this tree.

The Pizza Whisperer was able to safely join us for the holiday
and help us break in our new Woodfire Pizza oven!

And it snowed and snowed and snowed and continues to snow still...

I have no idea what's in store for the world in the months ahead and I'm tryin not to anticipate a return to normalcy any time soon so as to avoid disappointment. But if I have to wait for things to change for the better, I couldn't pick a better place to do it.

That tree is perfect because it came from your property. So glad you are right where you are meant to be.

    1. I feel very fortunate. But I will admit that for awhile there, as I held a bleeding rooster and tried to figure out what to do, I had some serious second thoughts about farm life.
